LIBOR Names REALTORS® of the Year
Barbara Frechter and Sheryl Kushnick
December 6,
2004 - West Babylon, NY - The Long Island Board of Realtors®,
Inc. (LIBOR) is pleased to announce that Barbara Frechter of Rego Park
has been named the 2004 LIBOR Realtor-Broker of the Year and Sheryl
Kushnick of Oceanside has been awarded the 2004 LIBOR Realtor-Salesperson
of the Year. The announcements were made recently at the association’s
Annual Installation & Awards Dinner held at the Crest Hollow Country
Club, Woodbury.
Barbara
Frechter has been an active real estate professional for the past 30
years. She started her real estate career in 1974 and is broker/owner
of Glenjay Realty in Forest Hills.
Barbara joined the Long Island Board of REALTORS® in 1983 and
has served on countless committees both as chairperson and member.
She has served as a LIBOR Director since 1993, as Treasurer in 1994 & 1997,
Queens Vice President in 1995, as President-Elect in 1998 and as President
in 1999. Barbara has been extremely involved in the Western Queens
Chapter where she served as Vice President in 1991 & 1992, President
in 1993.
On the State level, Barbara has served on NYSAR’s Member and
Board Services, Member Communications and Legislative Committees. She
is also currently a NYSAR Director.
Barbara was a member of Community
School Board District 28 in Queens. She attended Simmons College in
Boston and graduated from NY University and holds a B.S. degree
in retailing and marketing.
Sheryl Kushnick has been an active real estate professional
for 14 years and is with RE/MAX Elite Realty in Oceanside. She joined
LIBOR in 1990 and is currently
the LIBOR Vice President for Nassau County.
On the Chapter level, Sheryl has
served of the Board of Directors for the Nassau South Shore Chapter
since 1995. She was Chapter President for 2 consecutive years.
She also serves on the LIBOR Board of Directors for the past 4 years. Sheryl
also received the LIBOR Chapter Distinguished Service Award in 1998 for her service
to the Nassau South Shore Chapter.
Sheryl’s community involvement is extensive.
She received LIBOR’s
Community Service Award in 2001 for her outstanding fundraising efforts for a
number of organizations. Sheryl, through her accomplishments, her tireless efforts
and volunteer spirit, is truly a servant to her community and those in need.
